Re: Recording guitar --> pc sound quality
Most people could never hear the difference but I'm not sure how different it will be when I start recording. The only difference would be the technology behind the electromagnetic pickups under the strings. Some buck hum better than others and some have tone controls and do volume control better. ...

Re: Export MP3 issues
Do you have Windows set to show you file name extensions? typically, Windows tries to hide all that from you and you never see the .mp3 extension. If you do see it, then the filename is really MyMusic.mp3.mp3 which will confuse some players. -- Hidden File Extensions -- Start > My Computer > Tools >...

Re: Blue Yeti - Win Settings Problem?
(I can't watch your video 'cause I'm at work...) You have to hear it. It's not overload or flat-topping. It's perfectly clear recording overlayed with a fine mist of digitizing hash. Well, it seems that this is only happening when I record my audio through Fraps, If your capture both picture and so...

Re: Blue Yeti - Win Settings Problem?
No, no, no. That's not a straight quality audio issue. Forget the equalizer. I can't put my finger on it, but it sounds like bad digitizing or other data error. There is a fine spray of harsh needles in back of each word of your speech. Where would I go with that........? Is there any way to try thi...

Re: guitar USB interface
That's a cousin to the way I do it, with a Peavey PV6 and UCA202.

I also use this mixer with the Mac and I don't need the UCA202 -- unless I want to do overdubbing and multi-track.

Re: dire need of help
Windows (I'm assuming Windows) has settings for audio conferencing like Skype and other VOIP. You should turn them off for straight music recording. I think we have a formal tutorial but I can't find it. Here's how one poster solved it. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=41179&am...

Re: Clicking sound from a series of sine waves
Most natural, graceful oscillating systems hate stopping and starting, not just tones. Think of the push you need to give a clock pendulum to get it moving. It keeps terrible time for the first few swings until it gets its rhythm. Starting and stopping sine waves abruptly gives a pulse function, not...

Re: Set up query
The Line-Out of your mixer and the Mic-In of your computer are incompatible with each other. We recommend the UCA-202 for these applications, but any USB sound card with Stereo Line-In will do. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo.jpg You do need to pay attention. I have a USB s...
