Re: Recording Time seems Excessive

Are you talking about the timeline numbers along the bottom of the graphic? Are you recording in something standard like 44100, 16-bit Stereo? Audacity internally doesn't always use the same standards internally as you think, so the actual show duration may be different from the projected numbers. A...

Re: Audacity 1.3.13 crashes opening .aiff files

One more. Did you recently decide to fill up your Plug-Ins folder with a bunch of new, cool filters?

Can you take them back out? A bad VST filter will create very serious issues.

Re: Audacity 1.3.13 crashes opening .aiff files

Since you've been producing music for weeks, are you filling up your Mac? Go > Utilities > Disk Utilities Select your system drive > Verify Disk and Repair Permissions. Audio and video production are much more stable if you can maintain 10% to 20% free space. If your INFO numbers say 90% full or hig...

Re: Audacity 1.3.13 crashes opening .aiff files

Reinstalling Audacity doesn't Reinstall Audacity. There is a Preferences folder left behind so that program updates carry your personal adjustments forward without loading them all again. That also sometimes carries forward damage. Delete this folder: Go > home > Library > Application Support > auda...

Re: Alignment arrows on delete at zero point

Without seeming too dense, the arrows are pointing to the vertical edge of the amplitude graphic. There is no time indication I can find.

Re: Anyone else have this issue?

Can you post anything without the imported songs?

Where did you get the imported song and is it protected? Where did you try to post it?

Re: Alignment arrows on delete at zero point

I can't figure out what you're talking about. The graphic I see has no timeline. How are you seeing that a wave starts before zero time? And yes, I agree, if you have the system set to only edit on zero amplitude crossings, you could get ambiguity.

Re: Help for recording beginner who can't get rid of static.

This is a thing I wrote a minute ago for another poster having similar problems. I'm guessing that you are overloading your Mic-In on the laptop causing very harsh crunchy popping audio. Let us know which sound mixer you have. You said you had the computer, turntable and microphones plugged into the...
