Re: isolate
At the best setting the isolate profile should not look different in the speech region compared to the sampled region. You said that earlier and I couldn't follow it then, either. I think I see where this is going. You're looking for a graphic, visual way to tell if the noise reduction is working w...

Re: PLEASE HELP, NEED TO RECOVER MY PROJECT
First, the AUP file and the _DATA folder need to be in the same folder, and further, they should be in the folder they started in. They need to have the same name, and they need to have the name they started out in. MyMusic.aup MyMusic_data Do you remember what the original filename was? Open the AU...

Re: Just want to work with one track
If you insist on hitting the Stop button, then there's not much we can do for you. If you press Pause, Audacity will go into Record Pause and you can pick up right where you left with another Pause key. If you want to pick up again next week or any time after you Stop, then you can use the Append Re...

Re: Tape "blurs"
just used a mini-stereo cable with two male ends (one to the headphone jack in the stereo, the other to the microphone jack in the laptop). And that's the other thing you can't do well. Mic-In, unless you have one of the Very Special Laptops, is mono, not stereo, and is expecting a very tiny, delic...

Re: editing a single track in a stereo recording
You can also suppress a cough with the Envelope Tool. That's the two white arrows and bent blue line. That gives you a rubber band above the performance that will affect the volume depending on where and how you drag it. You can do phrase by phrase editing with that thing.

Re: editing a single track in a stereo recording
In the far left drop-down for the stereo track > Split Stereo Track. Edit your brains out one side at a time. Drop-Down > Make Stereo Track. You will have the usual problems editing without changing the length of the track. HiLight a portion and Control-L to silence it. At the end of this, after you...

Re: Audacity does not record speaker
That would be Windows doing Voice Conferencing Echo Cancellation.

Re: Annoying delay
output jack on the keyboard is connected to the microphone jack on my computer That's the first problem. Those two are very different connections. For one thing, the keyboard is probably stereo and Mic-In is mono. You can connect your keyboard (or mixer) to the computer using one of these stereo UC...

Re: using 2 channel tube mic amp w/Audacity
You're going to have to get seriously closer than that. That's not even enough to wild guess at. What is the model number of the amplifier? What's your computer -- exactly? Model numbers.

Re: generate menu
You can suggest it yourself in the New Features section.
http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=20
That can be folded into my suggestion that you should be able to assign frequently used Effects to hot keys.
