Re: Clicks and pops
Stop, stop. Your clicks may not actually be in the show. You may have a computer management problem. We wrote something about this and I'm looking for it. Koz

Re: add a couple of seconds of silence to a song
Put the cursor where you want a break and Generate > Silence. A panel will open explaining the options. You can mess with it there, or just accept them and cut the silence to suit you later in editing.

Re: help desperately
If you're on a new Windows machine, you may also have to turn off Windows Conferencing Services. Windows will try to automatically set your recording volume if you don't. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Recording#enhancements Then you need to use headphones. Live recording and live speakers d...

You can totally do that, just not in Audacity 1.2. Get Audacity 1.3 and use Transport > Append Recording.

Re: No simple save command?
That's a sore point. The inability to "save" a sound file has cursed many shows to death as people try to email an AUP sound file to someone. AUP isn't a sound file. It's an Audacity Project Manager and it has no audio in it. I went the first year of using Audacity before I even knew what ...

Re: Program only records audio and not voice
Did this happen right after you tried to record internet audio or YouTube or one of those? The changes you make to your machine to record internet audio turn off the ability to do entertainment recording. Do you remember what you did? I'm saying "you", but it could be anybody that has acce...

Re: Recording from Rane TTM Mixer back to USB sound card
If it's fairly conventional stereo line-out, you can plug it into a UCA202 and plug that into your PC. Similar to this: http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/UCA202.jpg The thing has no volume controls or indicators so you need to pay attention to your levels. It does have a headphone connection, and i...

Re: Best Sampling Rate for Export to Mp3?
The problems you can get into with oddball sampling rates or other strange characteristics can far outweigh the benefits -- particularly since you're not starting with a live voice. 48000 is the video rate for television. 44100 is the sample rate for Music CD. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tuto...

How did you get the rhythm to line up since it doesn't in the original piece?
