Re: Vertical Alignment Line?

If one has more silence in the beginning of the clip then the other, is there a way for Audacity to locate the beginning of the first note on each track While it would seem to be relatively easy to determine where silence is and where music is, in fact it's no such thing. What happens if the music ...

Re: error opening project message

Obviously that should work. Open up the AUP project manager file in a text editor and read it. In the first two or three lines, it should tell you what it thinks the show was named. It may not be what it's named now. This is a really simple aup file. See where it says "projname= http://kozco.co...

Re: can't hear playback

Re: can't hear playback

Windows, right? It's not unusual for Windows to see a "USB Sound Device" and assume sound has to go both ways. So it's probably sending your music back out to the turntable -- who has no idea what to do with it. You can force Windows to play to your speakers in the Windows Control Panels, ...

Re: Multi-channel playback

You're never going to press Play in Audacity and have more than two channels go out. You can make multi-channel files and play them in Something Else. Wasn't there a multi-channel software player included with your sound card -- if you have one yet? I have a very old 7.1 SoundBlaster card and it cam...

Re: recording a bass track

The problem is trying to get the computer to push music both directions at once. If you have a "fake" keyboard, the computer will play it out to your speakers or headphones so you can enjoy it. Full Stop. Audacity will capture any music you make outside the computer by digitizing it at you...

Re: amr import & export

It's possible you can open an AMR file with Audacity 1.3 and the FFMpeg libraries from here...

But I found a free converter for Windows XP.

You still neeed to be in Audacity 1.3 for any of these manual adjustments to work no matter how you do it.

Re: Vocals Lagging on instrumental when rapping

The piece from the book may not be applicable to you, either because you're on a laptop. That one depends on you having a desktop with Line-In and can use a loopback cable. I don't think we have anything that perfectly conforms to what you're doing. The idea is to intentionally create feedback. Gene...

Re: Frequency shift with very low sample rates

Does it happen on more than one sound card? Like if you sent it to an external UCA202 (for example) instead of the default sound card, do the errors go away? Koz
