Audacity won't do that.

Re: "Normalize" a multi-channel show
When mixing down, forget about numbers and meter readings - listen to what it sounds like. If it sounds good, it IS good. Said the skilled musician. However most of us do depend on our instruments and tools and the vast number of people messing around mixing have no idea what they're hearing. I don...

Re: Can you help me identify this vinyl noise/remove?
My vote is you're stuck with it. Pulsing white noise would be impossible to remove and given how low a level it is, you should probably ignore it. Unless you're playing to a bunch of musicians or techies, nobody is going to know. If you play nice with the leading and trailing segments of each song, ...

Re: No sound in itunes
Apple (upper left of the desktop) > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Output. Make sure that's pointed to your built-in speakers, headphones or wherever you want it to go. This setting can get scrambled if you plug in a USB sound device. You didn't say how you were getting the music, but that'...

"Normalize" a multi-channel show
I vaguely remember posting something like this some time back... Normalize/Amplify across a multi-channel show such that the stereo mix-down does not overload. This is coming up more and more with the Overdubbing documents. The only way to get a clean stereo mixdown is hunt and peck Group Amplify un...

Re: Exporting as MP3 with existing bitrate
AIFF and WAV are sisters of each other. Both are uncompressed formats. AIFF happens mostly in Apple-Land, but WAV files are accepted all over earth, which is why Audacity default is WAV. AIFF handles metadata (author, dates, style) better than WAV. Both work perfectly well in iTunes. iTunes has the ...

I do. Stop using Audacity 1.2.Does anyone have an explanation ?

Unless there is a reeeeely good reason to keep using 1.2, you should stop. It can be significantly unstable on newer computers.

Re: Exporting as MP3 with existing bitrate
an MP3 with the file's existing bitrate? Yes, but you wouldn't want to. Every time Audacity makes a new MP3, it adds compression damage to the sound and you can't stop it. You can export as 320 quality MP3 and that helps a lot, but the file sizes go way up. Obviously, you can export as WAV and ther...
