Of course, you're required to have one of these... http://www.shure.com/americas/products/microphones/classic/520dx_green_bullet_harmonica_microphone "zero" dB is where the digital system runs out of numbers. The sound keeps getting louder but the system can't keep up with it, so it clips,...

Do one have one of those one-connector-fits-all things? Do you have two differnet connectors for Line-In and Headphone Out like this?

You may be trying to record your built-in microphone. You get a show when you do that, but it usually sounds pretty awful. -- Record Internet http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_Control_Panel Some ...

Re: Audacity Auto-Corrects Sound Input
Audacity isn't doing that. That's a Windows problem. Windows comes out of the box as a corporate internet communications device (Skype, Vidyo, Windows Meeting), etc., Not an entertainment recorder. You are experiencing Echo Cancellation or Auto Level Control. -- Windows Conferencing Services http://...

Re: Exporting as MP3 with existing bitrate
I think we've been recommending MP3Split. The problem with trying to edit an MP3 in MP3 is MP3 doesn't compress music. It compresses the character and contend of the musical tones and overtones and then cleverly saves them in a sound file so you don't notice what it did. If you change any of the con...

Re: making a demo of my band, need advice
You can tell when you did a good job when it "seems" like "all you did" was stick a microphone out in front of a live performance and walked away with a terrific recording. Reality is a little more involved than that. This is what leads people to try and record rock concerts from...

Re: Got some decent equipment but I`m totally lost.
I found a nice video made by a musician who hit some bad patches with this thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcLS6J9QT0E I think you wired the mixer wrong. You should only have two cables not including your headphones. An XLR cable between your SM-57 and the Alesis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
