Re: Removing everything that's clipped?
I don't think so. One problem with an Auto Sensor would be knowing when to stop. Popping waves are part of other waves before and after the pop. If all you do is suppress a wave that goes all the way up to overload and leave the bits before and after that are about the same size as the average music...

Re: all sound left, now right, now left, etc - input via mic
This is precisely the problem people get when they decide to graduate from a single microphone podcast to two or more microphones. Suddenly, there are no cheap and easy shortcuts any more. There's an enormous step when you go between one and two or more microphones, particularly if you need stereo m...

Re: all sound left, now right, now left, etc - input via mic
Not without post production. Audacity doesn't do anything in real time anyway, so it would have to be some special hardware device. You can't even get Aggregate USB Microphones to split left to right. The only way to get this is through a mixer with multiple microphones. I briefly considered a "...

You may have any of these problems on your computer. Keep reading until you find something that fits. I'm guessing Conferencing.

Re: Science Project Help
You might be able to do clarity with Analyze > Spectrum. This is an analysis of one piano note. G two octaves down, I think. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/piano_G1.jpg So that's G1, not quite falling off the end of the keyboard. Everything to the right of that very high peak is harmonics and overto...

Re: Science Project Help
You can't do "clarity," but you can do volume pretty easily. You can use an expanded version of the volume meters. Click on the right edge of the sound meters and pull to the right. They will get larger and much easier to see. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_playback.jpg You can e...

Re: How to make sound come from both headphones
If you have a stereo show with one mic on one side and one mic on the other, the easiest way to get around this may be to split the stereo show and make each part mono. Select the little black drop-down arrow to the left of your stereo track and select "Split Stereo Track." Using the two n...

One more. Nothing can make you look more silly than discovering you didn't push the pink plug in all the way. Go ahead. Ask me how I know that. Unplug and replug it a couple of times and give it a half turn at the end.

Re: Audacity only recording with certain microphones?
You're doing this, right? http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCHeadset.jpg You should track it back through the Windows Control Panels and see what they think. Start > Control Panels > Sound > Recording or something like that. You're Record panel should be set to record from the Mic-In and not a...
