Changing the voice pitch with no theatrical damage is very rough in post production. Doing it in real time requires expensive analog processing. That and Audacity doesn't do anything in real time except record, play, and certain timer functions.
So, no.

You are recording your built-in microphone.

Some computers do this a lot better than others.

Re: newbie here
You can delete the end of the show that you don't want and then use Audacity 1.3 "Append Record" to put a new voice right at the end of the old one. You can do this forever if everything you do is at the end of the show. Changing something in the middle is much harder. Somebody posted abou...

Re: Sound Gets Fuzzy After Noise Removal
If you're recording with the microphone plugged into the pink computer Mic-In, then the noise may be coming from the microphone amplifier inside the computer. And yes, hiss is rough to cure. Be sure you're using Audacity 1.3 and not 1.2. Audacity 1.2 had very basic and simple noise reduction and som...

Re: Need Help To Get All Projects The Same Volume
In a related note: Some time back, someone went to great length to carefully adjust the compressors, clippers, limiters, etc. etc for the very best "invisible" compression and processing. He dismissed Chris as hopelessly crude because of it's slow recovery AGC action -- which it is and doe...

Re: Need Help To Get All Projects The Same Volume
Past the RAM issue (where you will probably run out) is the problem of the actual job. In general, the loudness tools are single ended and have one goal: make everything as loud as possible, and the effect can change significantly with the content. There is no setting to make this track the same lou...

Re: Digital files back to tape??
A Sony WalkMan tape player isn't going to do it. You need a cassette recorder like the one on the left. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/DesktopLine-In.jpg You would plug the headphone or Stereo Line-Out of the computer to the Line-In of the cassette machine with one of these. http://kozco.com/tec...

If you're on Vista or Win7, you should be on Audacity 1.3.
