Re: USB Sound Card - Input Levels
I don't know how it's wasting anything. That's 20dB headroom and 76 dB noise floor. That's broadcast levels. We would kill to have more people record like that. Most people try to record live performances jammed right up against zero which causes no end of problems. Clipping is fatal. Where is the s...

Re: Cant seem to remove the harshness in this video.
Where was the microphone? I hear two problems immediately and both of them take re-recording. The honky, talking down a pipe sound is compression. It sounds like the voice went through bad digital compression once, or moderate compression twice. Never do production editing in a compressed format lik...

Re: Continue recording in the same track?
And the track was selected when you did that? You my need to "reinstall" Audacity. Here's how to do that. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Preferences Audacity depends on it's Preference File for everything. If you reset that, it has the same effect as ripping Audacity out by its hair an...

Re: Cannot recording from cassette
I remember Win2K. You should probably go into Windows Control Panels > Sound and make sure the thing you want to record is selected there. I'm remembering when you open the sound panel, it's in Playback and you have to select an additional pulldown to get Record. You can listen to sound all day long...

Re: Continue recording in the same track?
You posted in the Audacity 1.3 section. Audacity 1.2 does not have Append Record.

Re: Continue recording in the same track?
Append Record does do it. Shift-R assuming your old track is selected. Jams your voice right onto the end of your old one.
If that fails, then there's another problem.

You need to tell us how you have the church connected to your computer(s). Follow it back from the microphone.
PC? Mac? Which one? Operating System? WIndows 7? Exactly which Audacity?

Re: LAME is lame and Audacity is create silent spots
You can get silence gaps when you change in any way the music or sound clips you used in the show. Audacity does not make personal copies of music and if you use the sound files and then move them, Audacity can't find them any more and the show goes flat line. You can open your AUP file in WordPad o...

Yeah that happened to me, too. If you hover over the left edge of the waveforms, your cursor will change into a + magnifier. Press/hold Shift and it will change into a - and reduce the vertical size of the waves. Stop when you get to 1 up and 1 down.
