Re: Playing a track with the arrow keys

Checking in with the exact conditions. OS-X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. Fresh install of Audacity 1.2.5 from my Time Machine archives. It seems to run exactly like it did when it was new. I removed all traces of Audacity 1.3.13 and put it in the trash (OS Isolation). Audacity 1.2.5 launched as if from Firs...

Re: Recording from "Mono" cassette tape

Theory has it that a Mono music file properly tagged should play on most if not all music players and present audio from both speakers. There should be no difference between that and playing the same stereo file with the exact same work on both tracks. However, if you're worried about this, capture ...

Re: when i record it Skips

the play/pause button being pushed in and out very quickly Once? Both? You press Record and the two buttons, Play and Pause press themselves once and then the recording happens OK? You should probably do the upgrade to Audacity 1.3.14. There was a significant jump between 13 and 14 and 14 knows abo...

Re: annoying delay, how to get rid of this?

You posted in a part of the forum that doesn't tell us anything about you.

Windows? Mac? Which Audacity? How old is the computer? How much memory and which operating system?

It's not unusual to get some delay, but not one second. There's something wrong.

Re: Audacity not recording?

You can go into Audacity Preferences > Devices and see what Audacity thinks it's supposed to be connected to. Do you like to plug and unplug USB devices? Windows has an odd relationship with USB. If you plug in a USB sound device,Windows naturally assumes it's priority and bi-directional -- which in...

Re: Audacity not recording?

I bought a headset
We live on lush, abundant information. Who made the headset? USB? Analog? Part numbers? Which Windows ? What kind of computer? Are you actually on Audacity 1.3?

Re: Crash on sample rate change

Audacity is a terrible INFO generator. Try opening the work in Windows > Properties > Advanced and see what that says. Or free QuickTime for Windows and Control-I to get the INFO panel.

You may find that you're already done.

Re: Recording streaming audio

Oh, sure. But Audacity is almost incidental to the process. Setting up the computer is the work.
