Re: Aligning a speech recognition transcript to audio

Movie Scripts do something like this. Well constructed movie scripts move about a minute per page. A 90 page script...... So you play a half-hour into the show, open to page 29, 30, or 31 and pick it right up. You don't even need those little post-it note things hanging out. That's as close to a rea...

Re: Aligning a speech recognition transcript to audio

This seems like a pretty natural thing to want. It's a pretty natural thing for you to want. First I've heard of this. I can't picture a way to do this that doesn't involve video. Video is the natural sync of picture and sound. Pictures of the words, which will not let you Text Search. Audacity doe...

(WAMU) on a web site. American University. 88.5 MHz. Nebraska Ave. Yes, I used to work there. So your real question is how to record internet audio. You threw us off there. Yes, internet recording in Win7 is an adventure. The real method is to record from Stereo-Mix, Mix-Out or What-U-Hear "de...

Audacity is a complete slave to what the computer does. What do the connectors on your laptop look like? http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCLaptopSound.jpg Most laptops are missing the blue Stereo Line-In. If you have one that does, you have an oddity. Of all the laptops at work (besides the M...

One other point. I believe Pamela Professional and Pamela Business are the only two that allow the two sides of the conversation to be captured on individual tracks. Read your instructions.

Re: What will require to interview using Audacity?

Many people do high quality interviews "in real time" by talking to each other over skype, but each person records his or her high quality voice in their house. One sends the high quality voice file to the other and the two high quality voices are smashed together in Audacity for the final...

Re: How to create an MP3 album from online radio

The first thing you need to do is convince the computer to allow Audacity to record internet sound. That can be a challenge on newer computers, but it should be easy in Win XP. -- Record Internet http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer http://wiki.audacityteam.org/w...

He prides himself on their being totally noise-free. "Low Noise" perhaps. "Totally noise free" is impossible without exotic conditions like liquid nitrogen baths, etc. Not likely. Electret microphone elements by themselves produce a sound signal with all the robust, crushing pow...

Re: What's the easiest way to split a file into two or more

If you're an Audacity Old Hand, you can put labels (Command-B) at the beginnings of each movement. Then File > Export Multiple and Audacity will provide the same number of individual music files as labels. I hope you didn't immediately export the live show as MP3. Master performances should be expor...
