Re: Restoring cache files with a recovery program
...several months ago.. Get Data Back Sure, if after you made the edit, you carefully wrapped up the computer in plastic and never used it again until now. You ought to be able to get most if not all the work back. If you used the computer between then and now, chances are excellent the work is gon...

Re: can't record audio on computer and my voice at the same
See if Microsoft has provision to do this. Recording conferences is almost universally wanted and needed (we're struggling with similar problems). Usually after you say the first hello on your brand new system, somebody will raise their hand and want a recording of the proceedings. Sometimes somebod...

Re: Is Audacity supposed to open .aif files?
Probably the filename extensions. Windows likes to hide filename extensions from you to "help you." If you restore the longform filenames to your work, you might find that the aif files you have are really something other than aif. -- Hidden File Extensions -- Start > My Computer > Tools >...

Re: newbie-trying to record and name my file

Re: Flat lining when exporting from audacity project
That's not all that battery does. It's the CMOS battery that keeps a working record of the computer environment. You can reduce a computer to trash with a bad battery.(bad battery and it is getting old resetting the time).
Any chance you can get a new battery in there before the next test?

Re: Initial Preferences Set Up
Are you recording with a Windows laptop computer? If all you have is a non-USB turntable, you should probably buy a small Behringer UFO-202 Phono Preamplfier and digitizer. That will save an enormous amount of trouble. http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/UFO202.aspx The pink Mic-In on your laptop i...

Dolby Axon. Surround Sound Voice Chat for Gamers [cringe] You should dig in the product documentation and see if they have purpose-built software for recording the game. Audacity will not record both sides of a normal Skype session and that's a relatively simple system. So I'm going with no. Comput...

Re: Flat lining when exporting from audacity project
If you exported the same WAV file from the same edit points with two different filenames, do the two matching exports break in the same place?
