Re: Female voice quality - equalisation advice appreciated
Does the Mac have either a fan or a physical hard disk? If you mean classic, spinning metal hard drives, my last bunch of machines have had Solid State Drives, not spinning metal. Highly recommended if your goal is production. Macs are dead quiet most of the time, but you can stress them and they w...

Re: Female voice quality - equalisation advice appreciated
As things stand, is it acceptable as far as ACX is concerned? I'd say no, particularly because a sister posting to yours got rejected because of background noises. It seems to have passed ACX Test. We still don't know what's going on yet. There's a difference between natural, rain-in the trees (shs...

Re: Female voice quality - equalisation advice appreciated
It's a fist away from the pop and blast filter. It's a larger shaka away from the microphone. And she is a fist-width from the mic
Isn't it fun doing this through third party?

Re: Female voice quality - equalisation advice appreciated
I'll bet everyone thought all you needed was a pleasant, expressive voice and the rest of this would be a walk in the park, right? You are about to meet a hidden Hollywood talent. Read this in your best theatrical style. Now read the whole book that way. ACX expects all your chapters to match and th...

Re: Female voice quality - equalisation advice appreciated
Much better. I applied Audiobook Mastering tools and it passes ACX technical testing. Screen Shot 2020-07-14 at 11.06.34 AM.png But. Read through the "Hold Your Breath" blue link detailed instructions for the sound test. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.html The f...

Re: Noise Floor passes in ACX test- fails in ACX
I use a professional microphone Such as? We have to build your system in our heads and the more info, the better. I contacted ACX tech support. No response yet. And probably won't be. ACX is not in the business of solving your tech problems. They're a marketing and publication business. ACX blanket...

Re: Recorded Audio at Higher pitch than normal
If you're already stuck with a show running at the wrong pitch, you might be able to fix it by changing the track sample rate with the drop-down menu on the left. Screen Shot 2020-07-14 at 1.58.14.png Please note there are actual defects which can cause a show pitch change. If your computer is overl...

Re: Recorded Audio at Higher pitch than normal
I remember this. The Zoom on-line instructions don't have page numbers. Anyway, see in the lower left of the display, it calls out the sampling rate? 44.1KHz is 44100. Screen Shot 2020-07-14 at 1.45.57.png That should match Audacity. Screen Shot 2020-07-14 at 1.49.16.png Your Zoom control buttons ar...

Re: Recorded Audio at Higher pitch than normal
ZOOM H2N usb mike An H2n is a good quality, stand-alone, digital sound recorder which can be forced to be a USB microphone if you really need it to be. A lot of the H2n advantages vanish if you do that. I bet the problem goes away if you record the sound on the Zoom and push the new, recorded sound...
