Re: Creating Custom Backing Tracks
The clicks are burned into the same track with the keyboard? Is it a mono track -- one waveform line instead of two? If both of the green playback meters jump at the same time, or you only have one waveform, then, no. The clicks are burned into the show and as above, you can't split up instruments a...

Re: How do you allow the user to skip to the next section
When I hit next on my iPhone, it goes to the end Of the current selection, yes. It should also go to the beginning of the next segment. That's where you put segment two. You distribute as three songs. I only know of three ways to Chapter Skip: Music CD, Video DVD and Video BluRay. All the other mus...

Re: Noise in background
"Noise" in the sense that it's undesirable, but it's not sound. You have DC or battery voltage mixed in with what you're doing. Generally, this happens at the digitizer step -- the place where audio voltages get turned into ones and zeros. If that's your internal sound card, you might cons...

Re: Mysterious dissapearing aif files....
Certainly. You can pull apart your AUP file and look. It's a text file. I took a picture of a very simple aup file and added spaces and blanks to make it look pretty. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/aup1.jpg Note where it says "aliasfile=" That's the beginning of the pathway to your music. ...

Re: Losing quality when editing only WAV files?
You know the next question is "which effects are those -- specifically?"This only applies if you are doing simple cut/paste type editing.
If I apply Effect > Amplify and don't change anything, have I damaged the sound?

Re: How do you allow the user to skip to the next section
You want navigation chapters. Nobody has to sit through the show. All those devices have music scroll bars. I don't know of any chapter management in iTunes other than making a playlist with three items in it and the iWhatever will play them in sequence and you can forward step to the next one easil...

Re: Losing quality when editing only WAV files?
How sure are you that you have WAV files? You can get Windows to show you filename extensions and that goes a long way to figuring out what you have. -- Hidden File Extensions -- Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > [ ] Hide Extensions for Known File Types (deselect) -- Apply (to th...

Re: Evening out volume variations?
Over the course of the single note there's a (very irregular) change in perceived volume What do you think caused the volume variations? Many times we can do a lot better suggesting solutions if we know what the show is. What's the show? You probably didn't get up this morning with a desire to even...

Re: Weird problem-household noises?
There is one diagnostic thing you might consider Set Audacity preferences for Playthrough, close the panel and click once in the red Audacity recording meters. That will turn all the recording services on except actually capturing anything. You can turn the speakers up and listen for problems while ...
