Re: change gender of voice???

This is a Frequently Asked Question. I don't know that there is an answer. The differences between the voices is not just a pitch change. Lauren Bacall's voice was lower than Humphrey Bogart. I've done both voices, but I did it by changing microphone placement and theatrical presentation. Really har...

Re: Export Multiple only exports a single file

Labels are a very special thing in Audacity. They're not just a place to put words. You have to place a formal Label (Control-B) at the beginning of each place you want a song to start. Then File > Export Multiple should give you the same number of different files that you have labels. Just to clear...

So far we know you don't want to record your voice. What do you want to record? What kind of computer do you have? Koz

Re: Snowball Mic - Getting rid of unwanted noise?

This is the guy with the guitar. He's playing this cold and he normally plays an electric. He stopped playing at the end to give you the sound of the room.

Re: Snowball Mic - Getting rid of unwanted noise?

From memory: Click one is cardioid, click 2 is cardioid 10dB quieter and click 3 is omnidirectional. Does it get quieter between clicks one and two? 10dB isn't a lot, but it is noticeable. Have you ever had any other experiences recording sound? Many people are horrified how noisy their environment ...

Re: Snowball Mic - Getting rid of unwanted noise?

Are you in fact recording your Snowball? Our Snowball has relatively low sensitivity and you have to be right on top of it to get level. I don't see it picking up background noises at all. I was about to accuse you of recording your laptop built-in microphone instead of the Snowball. That's your sym...

Re: increase latency to reduce mic clipping??

I got it so I could get away from the latency problem and it does that just fine. You can tune out Recording Latency in Audacity 1.3, yes. Should have your headphones plugged into the Dual Pre and not anywhere else. The Mix knob on the back will share the playback sound from Audacity and your live ...

Re: Mettalic sound in Audacity - quite urgent

The Crystalizer is not popular with some users. http://www.overclock.net/t/290315/x-fi-crystalizer-complete-garbage The first slight metalic sound is probably the Crystalizer trying to process and clean your voice. That's a warning. The master sound tracks should be completely clear, clean and free ...

Re: Record sound issues

Win7 has more sound services than older Windows did. You may need to turn off Conferencing Services. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Recording#enhancements Did you go from a desktop to a laptop computer? Are you recording the built-in microphone instead of the PA feed? If you unplug the PA, d...

Re: garbled, barely audible sound from speakers

If you're on Win7 or Vista, you may need to turn conferencing services off. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Recording#enhancements I just need help on what setting I am missing to be able to hear my cassette audio through my speakers clearly. You can't hear the music through your speakers, bu...
