Re: Recording levels dropped
I've recorded many things in Audacity Such as? Try to stay from fuzzy generalities when you're describing your problem. That doesn't help us. have plugged in a microphone and used a USB headset. At once? Plugging a USB headset to a Windows machine can cause the machine to reconfigure itself for the...

Re: Recording Skype
Skype takes over the sound services on your computer. If you do manage to rip the services back from the Skype process to do what you want, Skype will stop working. Re: First time user, can't see Canopus box in Devices
The Canopus delivers a video package, not audio. You might try capturing the show in QuickTime Pro (if they still do it that way) and then save the video file and open the file in Audacity. I think you could also use QuickTime to Export the audio separate from the video. A lot of this changed with Q...

Re: Can't Find Any Line IN Options on My MacBook Ai
Does it have three RCAs? Red, White and Yellow? That adapter might try to create a video package that Audacity might not be able to read. The Yellow connection is for video. We like the Behringer UCA-202. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/UCA202.jpg I own one here and there are four in service at w...

Re: Voice Volume
The Audacity compressors might help, but they take setting and fiddling. You might try Chris's Compressor. Chris developed a compressor that simulates the processing at the radio station. That's why you can drive around all day without changing the volume on your car radio. http://theaudacitytopodca...

Re: Persistent audio glitch using new computer
That's a cousin to the Shure X2U I reviewed. Did you upgrade to a USB hub because you ran out of connections? Stop that. Audio systems must have one single dedicated connection to the computer.

Re: input problems
One more. This won't affect you, but you should be using the latest Audacity, not 1.2.

Re: input problems
Maybe nothing. Low volume is a very common complaint about the Samson series of microphones. Were you using the Logitech USB Desktop microphone? http://www.logitech.com/webcam-communications/microphones/devices/221 Terrific microphone. I have one and I like it. But it's a communications microphone, ...
