Re: How to save smaller file sizes in wav or mp3
Usually, it does, but it's pretty odd for the casual user to have file name extensions visible in Windows. If you took no special steps to force Windows to show you extensions, then it's possible your file is really named MyMusic.wav.ac3, and Windows sheers the ".ac3" off. That would look ...

Re: Stealthplug? Windows 7/1.3.x (Beta)
This may not have been a good match for you. It seems there is a lot of hands-on that needs to be done to get it to work. That and it's an old product. http://www.amazon.com/review/RAZBEWCV5C85/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#RAZBEWCV5C85 http://www.amazon.com/review/R20VOP8KIMYQZG/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#R20VOP8...

Re: second track recording very low volume
It could be Windows trying to help you.
See if you have Windows conferencing services running and turn them off.

Re: mp3 import is too fast
Audacity 1.2 can have some very serious problems on newer Macs. We stopped trying to bridge the differences because it was getting to be more and more of a total time waster. Upgrade right away.

Re: Customizing the Effects drop-down menu
My version of the Feature Request is to be able to assign Hot Keys ad lib to the effects you wish. I, too use the same effects over and over and I got really good at swishing up and down the list with my mouse. I can tell you exactly the arm motion I need to get to Chris's Compressor. This can get a...

Re: Won't stop recording off internal microphone!
No, you probably have not damaged it, it just usually doesn't work very well. It records left channel of your stereo show only and overloads to produce crunchy, crackly sound very easily. If you have been using it all along and you're happy, then you should keep doing that. You can add a good qualit...
Re: No RCA
No, and you don't need the RCAs at all. USB turntables work completely in the digital world by digitizing the stereo sound right in the turntable and then sending the digital bitstream to the computer. Plug in the turntable and then launch Audacity. Click in the Device Toolbar and look for a USB Sou...

Re: Overlapping sound
You are double recording the drum track instead of recording one track at a time. This can happen if you like to record Internet Audio and leave the Windows Recording System in Stereo-Mix, WAV Out, or one of those settings instead of Line-In or Mic-In. Root around in Windows Control Panels and see w...
