Re: convert raw data to and audio file?
S'OK. Audacity is not the most straightforward because of restrictions and fees. You may not have to import RAW data. You should download and install the FFMpeg and lame software packages. Those two in combination with Audacity 1.3 (only) should let you open up anything likely to be music. http://au...

Re: Volume level is extremely low
Do you have an "Input Level" graph below the Input Volume slider? Those flash left to right as the volume builds. Koz

Re: Volume level is extremely low
Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input. Make sure your microphone or USB device is selected. It should be possible to get the bouncing ball sound meter to bounce up to the right-hand third of its range with the panel local volume control plus all the other controls you have in the sys...

Re: please help-frustrating recording problem
The "soundcard" in this case is the tascam us122l, assuming you plugged it into the computer with USB. USB digital sound doesn't go through the computer's built-in sound card. While the computer and Audacity are creating trash, what do the headphones in the Tascam say? Do they present tras...

Re: Extracting lead guitar
Instruments-in-the-middle cancellation is the only process that works out clean. You would think once you're that far, you should be able to get the guitar back, but it doesn't work like that. The original guitar's musical character came from the natural stereo show with all the blue waves right-sid...

Re: Mac + Audacity + Photoshop = Underwhelmed
Say that again and use a lot more words other than buzz-phrases. Audacity is a really simple audio program and it likes running on really simple systems. What's the connection with Photoshop? Koz

Re: Need to Remove Voice Doubling Echo Effect
No. That's an echo and echoes are terminal. You might be able to remove all the voices with Effect > Vocal Removal. [time passes] No, it's a mono track and Vocal Removal only works on stereo tracks. We warn people to save everything as they do production. Do you have the original raw voice track and...

Re: Channel drops out half way through recording
To answer you specifically, no I haven't, but right channel problems are very common if you wire up your sound system wrong. Koz
