You complete a job and Export your work. You don't Save anything.
[X] close audacity and it asks you: [X] Save Changes? Do you get that Save Changes dialog?

Are you going through a USB hub? Most Audio Interfaces require a direct shot to the computer. They don't share well.
If you go into Audacity Preferences > Quality, what do you have for the sampling settings? Will the interface run if you selected 44100, 16-bit, Stereo and restart Audacity?

This will be one for the Windows people. I don't see any difference at all between the two files other than show length and they both play on multiple different Mac players. Koz

After you chop up your work with labels, it's File > Export Multiple and pick a place to accept them other than the critical, dangerous Windows Operating System folder (Win32). I use my desktop. You don't get one file. You get multiple files, one for each label you placed on your master show. Gather...

How long is each show?

I know it's not likely on Win7, but are you filling up your hard drive? How much space do you have?
To be clear, you close Audacity completely between sessions, File > Exit or Audacity > Quit?

You click on the stop button on the control panel. The recording and the blue waves will stop and wait for you to decide what to do next. If you have a long silence dragging from the end of your show, you can cut it off by drag-selecting it and press the keyboard delete key. Koz

This is the thing we wrote on multi-track and overdubbing. Those people have the same problem you do.
