I saved it as a compressed file. No, probably not. First, Audacity doesn't Save sound files. To get a stand-alone sound file you have to Export one. If you Export a Microsoft WAV file, you get a very nice, very high quality, uncompressed sound file and 300-400 MB is about right for half-hour of ste...

Before you get all excited over this, getting your microphone into the recorder and getting it into your computer can be very different jobs. Windows Computers are not known for their sound quality. How are you getting your voice into the computer?

The 4dB difference was the reason it was clipping in the first place. You can use one of the compression tools or Chris's Compressor to make the show louder without clipping or overload.

Overdub creates a second music track with just new work on it and plays the original track back to your headphones so you can play your guitar on pitch or in rhythm.
