Re: Clipping/ Distortion
It depends on what Normal is. We can't see your room, so you need to give us a push. How do you have your system connected and what is it? You did change the software. There is a huge change between Audacity 1 and 2 particularly the early versions of 1. The hardware settings may not follow you throu...

Re: second track clips or static with behringer c-1u
Low volume is perfectly normal with these. Low is easily fixable in Audacity (or any other program), but high volume, overload, and clipping is immediately fatal. Are you going through a USB hub? Re: REPLACEMENT FOR SKYPE RECORDER
I thought we had a tutorial or discussion posted about this, but I can't find it. On Windows, you can use Pamela Business or Pamela Professional and either of those will give you good quality tracks with the far on one side and the near on the other -- usually perfect for post production, filtering ...

sound with reverb (part of the desk i believe) You probably shouldn't believe that. You didn't say you were on Windows, but that's a terrifically good bet. I struggled with a Win7 machine for hours to get rid of a "theater echo" effect to my conferencing sound and it turned out to be an s...

Re: Recordig high frequency/pitch sounds
500Hz is not perceived as low or bass... It's in the lower-middle range of our perception. Not even. 440 is the oboe note at the beginning of the orchestra and this is above that. This should all work with Audacity default specifications. What specifically didn't work? Tuning forks do very well in ...

Re: recording Guitars
Yes, and you can overdub, too. Record instruments one after the other and overlay them into a final song. But that's not beginner territory.
What kind of computer and microphone have you got? The more information the better. Have you ever done anything like this before?

Re: Recordig high frequency/pitch sounds
high frequency sound instruments like tuning forks. How high? Don't leave us hanging like that. The only known limits of Audacity are the specification of the capture sample rate and the sound card which is much more likely to be at fault. For one example, the default Audacity sample rate is 44100 ...
