Just because I'm reading your question again, it's highly unlikely you will be able to isolate just the voices from a video without the music -- at least with Audacity.
The Voice Trap software is supposed to work well.

Re: Professional Help Needed Please Help
ve got 33.3 GB capacity 31.8 Used You can't do that. You have 1.5GB free to manage a 2.5GB show. Without closing Audacity, you need to copy large chunks of other work from your system onto a backup drive or thumb drive or just outright delete other work. Make sure your Recycle Bin is empty and not ...

Re: mpg how do I record the voice from my videos
You should download and install the FFMpeg software from here... http://audacityteam.org/download/ That should allow you to open the movie sound and edit it. Export as WAV which should drop right into your Music CD Authoring Software -- such as Windows Media. If you decide to use a Data CD and MP3 f...

Re: How do I fade a song out in PowerPoint?
Audacity will not edit the Power Point, but it will edit the sound track associated with it. Import the music track into Audacity and select the place where you want to start the fade. Like if you need the show to be gone at 5 minutes and take ten seconds to fade out, drag-select between 4:50 and 5:...

Re: Can I mix on the *Same* track?
That's how the video people do it and it makes me crazy because you can't "see" the edit. You have to keep it in your head and remember it as you go. If you have a complex show, there's no way to get a feel for what you did -- although I know people who do it. When I ask about it, I always...

Re: Cannot record from online stream source
I can use other recording programs which I find less friendly than Audacity. You can use other programs that provide their own music pathway through the computer -- in effect, forcing a recording. Audacity relies on the computer's own drivers, soundcard and operating system to record internet audio...

Re: Making my Song Edits sound better in Audacity 2
Now you know why almost always the track is frozen first and the video is edited to that rather than the other way 'round. The people who can match music to an existing picture edit successfully win Academy Awards®. Many people find it handy to replace the entire musical phrase rather than trying to...

Re: Cant record with speakers
You posted in a forum that doesn't tell us anything about you. Win7? Vista? Laptop? Newer Windows machines may not give you the tools to record internet audio. They're business machines intended for the corporate user. Did you go through our instructions? http://manual.audacityteam.org/help/manual/m...

Re: Montage/collage in several tracks
Like that? That's a bunch of Tracks > New Track and cutting and pasting different audio clips and segments.
The top, long track is "rain" (noise SHSHSHSHSHSH) and the others are various drum beats, tones, etc.

Re: Clipping/ Distortion
That sample is still clipping at 0.5 or 6dB down from maximum. Our Win7 machines have a little green sound meter next to each active recording source in the Windows Control Panels. Do you have such a meter and does it overload? Does it act normal, except it never goes over a certain level? Does your...
