Re: Help in recovering mis placed Data Files from a project
While we're waiting for someone from Cleveland to write in, let's see if we can unscramble this. We're going to be compulsive about accuracy. Can we assume a relatively modern machine -- with lots of drive space to spare? How much? Exactly? Low long are the shows? multiple hours? What is a typical f...

Re: Problem with Input Device
The latest version of Windows may be missing the tools you need to record internal sound or internet audio.

Re: Multiple Guitar Effects in AmpKit to Audacity
1. When trying to dub a guitar track over another, it seems to be delayed a bit when I replay it. I don't know anything about AmpKit, but if you're trying Overdubbing/Multitrack, we wrote a piece about that. Yes, delay management is a big deal. http://manual.audacityteam.org/help/manual/man/tutoria...

Re: Audacity Project Editing
Just to be clear, the sliders have all returned to zero/neutral, or are different real values from where you set them?I don't see the volume sliders in the same position as when I mixed. Have I lost the mix?

Re: Voice is echoing all the time
You need to simplify your sound pathways. You're probably listening to "one computer" worth of delay -- the delay of one pass through the computer. It's worse if you like to record internet audio and leave Stereo-Mix or WAV-Out selected instead of a real device like one of the USB adapters...

Re: trk 1 re-records on overdub
That typically happens if you like to record Internet Audio and leave that setting by accident. That will create recursive loop-back sound pathways and lead to your problem. Regard the Device Toolbar and make sure you're recording from an actual physical Device or Sound Thing like microphone or USB ...

Re: Audacity Project Editing
When I create a very simple project and change the sliders with the View > Mixer tool (which also affects the slider to the left of the track), the settings follow the saving of the project. I'm in Version 1.3.14. I wonder if something got lost in the upgrade -- or it's the difference between Mac an...

Re: Recording issue please help!!!
If you have a laptop computer, then there's a really good chance you don't have a Stereo Line-In and Mic-In typically only works with actual microphones. Scroll down to "Connections."then pluged it into my line in componet

Re: Recording equipment and Audacity
I have tried them. I wrote the three tutorials. The trick is to listen to the sound before the computer gets to it. Once the computer tries to "chew" on the sound and process it, you're dead. The sound is always going to be "one computer late." A computer is not a Digital Audio W...

Re: Fixing bursts of sound
The thump at the beginning is the needle impact with the groove. You can get rid of that easily by drag-selecting the thump blue wave and pressing Delete. Drag-Select the beginning of the show and zoom in Control-E. Keep doing that until you can see the thump. When you're done zoom back out full Con...
