Re: Dj and Record at the same time with my KAOSS pad
Am I missing something super simple? No, you're missing something complex. Normal computers only have two sound channels, Record and Play. If you have two working Play channels, headphone cueing and playback, you're already far beyond what the basic machine can do -- probably set up by custom drive...

Re: preparing song medleys
How do the songs exist now? Have they been sung yet? Are they a pile of music files?

Re: Issue Exporting and Saving Project
That sounds a lot like your computer ran out of drive space. If you can round up a thumbdrive/USB Drive or an external hard drive, you might be able to eave or export the work to that. If save selection is still running, you can drag-select the first part of the show and export that, and then drag s...

Re: Can't import MP3's
I still have the G5s that were taken out of service when we upgraded to the Intel Macs for video editing. At least one of them is still connected to a network and KVM. If this problem is still around on Thursday, I can be a check tester. I'm out of the shop on Wednesday. Koz

Re: Audacity not recieving audio from soundcard
Ignore the speakers for a minute. When you plug the guitar directly into the soundcard Line-In, you can record in Audacity, right? You get the red recording meters jumping and you get a wiggly blue timeline like this... http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record.jpg With a guitar, it might not ...

Re: removing or reducing speech
The recording does sound like it came out well, but no you can't take the voice out -- or at least not the way you want. With very clever and painful editing, you can take similar musical notes from other parts of the performance and drop them in to cover the voice.

Noise Removal is only useful against a very low continuous sound like air conditioning, pump noises, or microphone hum. Sound that doesn't change for hours. The tool is useless for sound that is constant...

Re: Audacity input mixer volume control doesn't work
Yes, you can record what you have and then apply Effect > Amplify, fixing it in post production. Most computers set volume by managing the characteristics of the analog sound card. If you use a USB device like your turntable, there is no sound card -- or more accurately, the sound card is inside the...
