Re: can't find ffmpeg file

The current "normal" download for FFMpeg puts the files and libraries in a Hidden, System folder which you need extra steps to see. The intention is for that install to work smoothly by itself and then Audacity Default is to look in that hidden folder automatically. You never have to see w...

Re: Can't find CDex file

Did CDex ask you for a name before it exported the file? You could search Windows for that name. There is one condition where that might fail. Did you use dates or punctuation marks in the filename? Koz

Re: Midi

Not that I'm aware of. MIDI is musical machine control, it's not actually music or sound. Koz

Re: I can't export a movie after editing its sound

Well, yes. Export a sound file from Final Cut, edit that in Audacity and then pull it back into Final Cut. Use WAV or PCM format or AIFF if Final Cut insists. Audacity will open all of them. You might be able to help by setting Audacity to 48000, 16-bit, Stereo, the television format in preferences....

Re: Issue: Sound fading in and out

Windows Vista or Win7, right? You may be a victim of Windows Conferencing. Scroll down to Conferencing. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/windowsRecording.html You should turn off all the special effects like Concert Hall and Echo Canyon, too. You'll find them in the Windows Control Panel under the...

Re: New User needs help with vocals

I'm surprised that Audacity 1.2 even runs on Win7. You should upgrade to Audacity 2.0, so we'll have a fighting chance to get all this working. http://audacityteam.org/download/ Now. Everybody always skips lightly over the most important bits. Recorded exactly what and how under what circumstances? ...

Re: create tracks on a live recording

You can capture one whole side of a record and then mark the songs with the Label Tool. Then you Export Multiple and Audacity will create separate music files, one per label. Then you copy all those files into a Music CD burning program and make a CD. Is that it? http://manual.audacityteam.org/help/...

Re: Record voiceover while listening to/recording jingle

This is traditionally done by overdubbing and mixing in post production. You play the base track to your headphones and record your voice on a separate, fresh track. Later, in post production, you shift, equalize, filter, and manage each of the tracks individually until you get exactly the sound you...

Re: Need help connecting TASCAM US-1800 to Audacity

That's a large, multi-channel USB-2 interface. I bet you'll need to use the Cubase LE program that came with your product to do capture -- or at least the software drivers. Chances are the standard Windows drivers aren't going to do it, or at worst, you'll only get the first two channels. Not all of...
