Re: Recording equipment and Audacity

Never produce work in your house that sounds like this. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/clips/EchoSample.mp3 A lot easier to do than you think. I like to picture this announcer maximizing her production efficiency by announcing the work in the bathroom. Probably not, but that's what it sounds like. T...

Re: Mono to Stereo

Select the mono track. Edit > Duplicate. Select the top track, (menu on left) Make Stereo Track. That will give you "stereo" in the sense that there are two married identical tracks. Before you Make Stereo Track, use the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows) to push one track later t...

Re: Recording equipment and Audacity

I'm trying to do this and eat my oatmeal at the same time. I'll have to hose off the keyboard later. You can totally connect two headphones to the headphone connection on the Peavey. Radio Shack makes some nice two and three way splitters. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=227247...

Re: Recording equipment and Audacity

I have a basic question: what is the difference between a Mixer and a Audio Digital Interface? A digital Audio Interface just gets you back and forth between analog audio and computer digital bitstreams. You can't hear a bitstream and a computer has no idea how a microphone works. You need to put s...

Re: Left Input Speaker Recieving Sound ONLY

I removed your email address. Posting a live address on the forum is a really bad idea. We get a lot of systems trolling us for addresses to send advertisements and trash to. If you force a stereo system to record a Rhode single microphone or a single USB interface, then yes, you may get Left only. ...

Re: Stereo Recording / Stereo Playback

Do the recordings also sound a little weird -- like hollow and sometimes the lead singer is lower volume than you think is normal? I had a turntable where the cartridge was connected to the arm wrong and it did this. Which turntable?

Re: no sound/ feedback- recording from mic

the first recording i did with live mic was mostly feedback Even with the headphones? You can get howling even with the headphones if you record from Stereo Mix or other "magic" sound device instead of Mic-In or one of the other real hardware devices. Set that with the Audacity Device Too...

Re: Audacity records web browser page loaded "ding".

Total Recorder has its own device drivers and path managers and gets to decide where the sound comes from. Because of that, Total Recorder is one of the programs that we recommend to record Skype calls, a difficult task. Audacity just uses whatever Windows provides and if that provision is "Wha...

Re: Background track isolation using multiple sources

You would think you would be able to do this with simple waveform subtraction and management, but that would only work if you had first level studio tapes or recordings. The minute you hit internet downloads, the compression and wave damage is different for each track and they're not wave-for-wave s...
