And the aged version. Badly done, but all the tools are there. I can't get some of the interaction tools to work. This is still too clean.

Re: Make your voice sound like an early-20th century recordi
Easy. Go through early audio wire recorder, early tape, or an early disk recorder -- vinyl or wax. Hitler in particular was speaking into early Neumann condenser microphone into a high quality public address and radio network. He didn't sound at all like that when he was speaking, guaranteed. All th...

Here's a good explanation of the system.

It runs in fast forward and fast rewind, too.

I'm just thinking about this. I wonder if there's a downloadable reader. I have the SMPTE technical specifications around here in a file cabinet...

This is a sample of actual, real, feel it with your fingers, SMPTE "linear" TimeCode. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/clips/SMPTETimeCode-59-00-00Mono.wav Admittedly, there's no date information. This particular 2-minute segment starts at 59:00:00 (M, S, Frames) and about the one minute...

Re: Commencement time of recording
There's room for a more global request for Time and Date Stamp. Audacity doesn't support any Real Time or Time Of Day services other than the information you can glean by second or third hand means. Yes, I understand that whatever is done is a slave to the computer clock given you don't have an exte...

Re: How to connect 2 cassette sides as one-90' track?
You should not shut off the cassette player. The computer will unmount the USB Sound Device associated and you may need to unplug and replug to get it back. Rather when you get to the end of side one, press stop in Audacity. Set up to play the second half of the tape and press Transport > Append Rec...

Re: Vocal Remover
You don't need to send it back. The object of the test is, first, to make sure your speakers and sound system are wired right. This is the web site associated with the clip. http://www.kozco.com/tech/soundtests.html If you listen to all 39 seconds just straight playback, the third segment should sou...
Re: Reverb.
Effects > GVerb down near the bottom of the list. If you're on a Mac, you get an extra one with the global tools. There are certainly others for download. Koz

Re: Burned WAV cd will not play in cd player
There was a feature war on for how fast a burner could make a CD. The numbers kept climbing up: X12!!, X24!!, X48!!. That one will burn an hour show is less than two minutes -- if it works. I would try a speed of X12 and then maybe one half that. Some recorders don't like running too slow, either. I...
