Re: Need New device recommendation please.
I am having a lot of problem It slows the songs when recording! We have some questions about that. Are you listening to the music as Audacity is recording and it's OK? How, exactly? Headphones plugged into the deck? The computer speakers in Audacity Playthrough mode? We have a number of problem pos...

Re: Difficulty using Rode Podcaster mic
Edit > Duplicate (Command-D) From the Drop-Down menu on the left of the track, Make Stereo Track. If you make a Music CD in iTunes, iTunes will "force" a stereo disk anyway, no matter if you started out mono or not. Tracks properly (internally) labeled "Mono" play to both speaker...

Re: Sudden stop
Audacity starts recording two ways: from the beginning of the show or the end of the last track with Append Record. You can pause recording at any time, but it will always pick up again at the end of that track. Audacity doesn't have "Punch-In" like a classic tape machine or some video edi...

Re: Inconsistent latency problem
Overdubbing works by, in essence, playing your beat track to you slightly early so that your live voice exactly matches and then it records the voice. Play them both back later and your voice and the unadvanced beats match, working around the internal computer delay (Recording Latency) problem. But ...

Re: Delay in output sound
You can use "Y" cables for the 2-way split. As long as you don't go nuts and need fifteen splits, that's perfectly valid.

Re: Delay in output sound
You may have two problems. The Mic-In on most Windows laptops is mono, not stereo, so you're probably listening to two Lefts, not Left and Right. Fade your mic back and forth or see if this plays through the mixer. It's short and pretty obvious. http://www.kozco.com/tech/LRMonoPhaset4.wav That and t...

Re: Audaicity recording playing fast Win7x64/Audacity 2.0
So far we've been struggling with Self Recording which is a chore to troubleshoot because by definition, all the sound services, both directions, have to be running properly and at once in order to work. I would kill for you to split the system up and record something that didn't originate on the in...

Re: Importing long songs
I'm not being silly, but how do you know Audacity cuts the song off at 6 min? Do you get the rest of the song on the timeline if you zoom out full Control-F?

Re: Lowering frequency help, please
Similar problem with the drums. If the drummer happens to hit the pitch where your speakers incorrectly accentuate the sound, it will drive you nuts -- and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong, you just don't like listening to some sounds. Is it possible to listen to some of the music on a CD in ...

Re: background noise on record
Do you know where your built-in microphone is? It can sometimes be remarkably hard to find. It's been different on my three laptops. Set up Audacity to record, turn the laptop speaker volume down and scratch around your laptop with your fingernail until you hit something that makes the red recording...
