At the risk of getting all Help-Desk on you, I didn't see "Restart the Machine" in that monolog (which was very complete and helpful).

Re: .Wavs Sounds Different in Audacity and iTunes
If you copy the song out of iTunes and re-open it in Audacity, is it still broken? Does it do that in Windows Media (You posted in the Windows forum).

Re: Will Audacity 2.0 open project from earlier versions
There was another poster who claimed that his Recording Latency wandered. Again, that's a computer problem and that computer may not be suitable for overdubbing and sound-on-sound.

Re: Will Audacity 2.0 open project from earlier versions
Audacity has been intentionally designed to be backwards compatible with earlier Projects. Audacity 1.3 will not open a 2.0 Project. I'm wondering whether it might solve the latency problems Probably not. Latency comes from the computer. Recording Latency can be adjusted out with Audacity Preference...

Re: Line in/ Jack to Jack cable *Recording problem*
Does the cable look like this? http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/stereoJumper.jpg Those are 1/8", so they're tiny. If so, plug your headphones or earbuds into the keyboard instead of the cable. You should hear the performance with no trouble. If you don't hear the performance, then there's...

Re: Another Noise Reduction problem
Did you get those right? I didn't hear any difference and I have a good sound system. The obvious tool is Noise Reduction. All you need is to get a clip of motor by itself and you're golden. No, I don't think that's likely, either. If you don't do that, anything else you do is going to destroy the w...

If they're short, you can do them right here on the forum.

Re: Difficulty using Rode Podcaster mic
I didn't find any of the shows that played on one side. I'm playing the MP3 tracks you pointed to. I personally think you're using too much compression. The voice is a little too honky and restricted for my taste. I couldn't listen to Sirius Satellite Radio for the same reason. If it's the only thin...

Re: Another unable to record
The loop connection, running a cable between the Headphone Out and the Stereo Line-In works really well in Macs and Desktop Windows machines but not so well with Windows Laptops because they tend to not have Stereo Line-In. Mic-In won't do it. If in spite of your best efforts you can't find the loop...

Re: Crackling sound when recording straight from my computer
You're going to need to blow that out a little. "I'm trying to capture YouTube audio by recording Stereo Mix on my Win7 HP Pavilion laptop, but Audacity 1.3.14 red record meters keep smacking the right-hand side and the audio pops when it does that. Also the blue waves go all the way to 1 both ...
