Re: recording duration
Sometimes it's helpful when something like this happens to get compulsive. "It stops recording after fifteen minutes, thirty seconds and it does it that way every time." Different problems cause different errors and it would be good to know that it halts in the exact spot every time. Do yo...

Re: MP3 files are only buzzing sounds
You just missed saying where the music came from. Is this you singing and playing the guitar into a microphone?I can use Audacity to record and play files as Audacity files, and Audacity appears to export these files as MP3 files

Re: Bad sound using Stereo Mix
Just to cover the bases, so you have the Windows Conferencing Services turned off? http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Recording#enhancements This can also be a symptom of your sound system being wired wrong. http://www.kozco.com/tech/LRMonoPhaset4.wav The last segment is intentionally damaged to...

Oops. Sorry. You don't need that (although it handy to have). You can File > Export > Other Uncompressed Format and search for uLaw.

Re: Another Noise Reduction problem
I'm expecting a watermill to sound like vigorously splashing water possibly pulsing slightly as the paddles come around. Maybe not. Add in wood-on-wood groaning and squeaking sounds and possibly stone-on-stone when the scene shifts to the actual wheels doing the work. The trick is to divorce your he...

Re: Presonus Board Comaptible with audacity?
Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input. Does Lion still have a sound meter in that panel -- a line of blue lights that bounce when you play music? Does it bounce when you play music through the Presonus.

Re: Inconsistent latency problem
If you think the applications are too "busy" then by all means close them. Also disconnect the network and if you have Time Machine running, disconnect the drive or temporarily close Time Machine. Stop AirPort. Do you have Virus Software? Many Macs don't, but that can mess you up by trying...

Re: unable to edit with audacity
Yes, you drag-select and then you can just press DEL on your keyboard. Play around the new edit and make sure you did it right and Edit > UNDO if you messed up. You missed a step. Music CDs are in a non-file standard format. You need to "rip" the show or convert it into something you can e...

Re: meta-data for Vinyl Recording
The standard music formats only support a certain amount of meta-data and it's fixed. This is something of a historic problem. In order to save space and increase the amount of music with the technology of the time, Music CDs have no meta-data. Some of the newer music compression formats can have Us...
