Re: volume automatically drops while recording
I can tell you that Audacity doesn't do anything in real time. It just records and plays back the work straight. So it's almost a certainty that it's your Windows that's doing it -- or the software that came with your sound card. You should go into your Windows Control Panels and see if there's anyt...

Re: Inconsistent latency problem
We do get suspicious when the poster starts claiming symptoms that are highly unlikely. Koz

You can also just unmount and disconnect the Time Machine drive and it will idle until you plug it back in again. "Oh, hey! I see you plugged your Time Machine drive back in. Do you want me to do a backup, please, please, please?" You don't want TM cranking through a massive backup while y...

Re: how to do subliminal affirmations?
So to work. The tool needs to modulate one sound channel with another. The top track can be the carrier and it's size changes exactly in step with the size of the second track. Obviously, the top track has to be higher frequency than the bottom or you just get an arithmetic mess. It's the top animat...

Re: how to do subliminal affirmations?
Getting this work to your ears could prove challenging. Most headphones and soundcards will not pass that kind of high-pitched sound. Koz

Re: how to do subliminal affirmations?
There is some serious doubt that a Music CD will handle that kind of work. 44100 sample rate is only perfectly accurate up to about 17KHz and it makes best-case guesses up further than that. If you need correct, perfect work up that far, you'll need to deliver the show on something else. As I unders...

Re: recording duration
If you have a very early Audacity you may not have a "transport" menu. Read your version. Help > About (I think). We need all three numbers. Audacity 1.3.14.

Re: Output automatically drops while recording
The reason you haven't heard from us long before this is you have a perfectly normal problem -- for Win7. Win7 has Conferencing Processing that tries to automatically set sound levels. WinXP doesn't...

Re: Line in/ Jack to Jack cable *Recording problem*
I understand all that. I was asking you to plug your earbuds into the keyboard connection to make sure there was anything coming out. It's a diagnostic test. The MIDI connection is "playing" the software keyboard simulator inside your computer. That's why it doesn't sound anything like you...
