Re: Changing Key of an MP3 file
We can do it with Effect > Change > Pitch without seriously affecting the length of the song, but you're going to run into two problems almost immediately. Two and a half full notes is right at the limit that can be done without sounding like you're dragging your finger on the record -- if you're ol...

Re: Bad sound using Stereo Mix
So WB1 was right. Always use FreeCorder to capture in Windows. Never Audacity.

Re: Record and listen to another audio file on H/D similtane
I'm going with no, although I've never tried it. Audacity is a really simple audio program and it likes running on really simple computers. When you launch Audacity it sends out commands to the soundcard where to put the recording and play settings. I have no trouble imagining what would happen the ...

Did you press Stop? All the dangerous tools are locked out while you're Recording or Pause Recording.

Re: Convert WAV file into VOC format
C. Creative voice (VOC) format. The VOC format is a proprietary data format defined by Creative Labs for use with their Soundblaster family of boards. It is widely used in DOS programs that make use of these boards, but is unusual on other platforms - including Windows. It is a sophisticated format...

Re: Filtering frequency during recording
Audacity doesn't do anything in real time past record, play, and some timer functions. No filtering and no effects. It's a future product request.

Re: Could a huge project cause problems?
I'm guessing no. Audacity works in chunks to avoid problems like this. If you open a Project to look at rather than listen to, you have _data folder with billions of individual chunks and fragments in it and an aup file to keep track of it all. Audacity still has to manage original files, so in that...

Re: Syncing PAL AUDIO with NTSC VIDEO? (I think)
If the complainers are correct and FFMpeg doesn't know about 23.976, it would have produced a sound file assuming 24.000. When imported into a 23.976 project, it would have played slow. Koz

Re: Syncing PAL AUDIO with NTSC VIDEO? (I think)
My guess is when FFMpeg split the sound off, it produced the sound file with the wrong speed in the header, or actually produced the 48000 sample rate incorrectly. I don't know of any way to find out in post production other than knowing the duration error. The error is perfectly correct for getting...
