Re: Help recovering lost file
but if there is, I can't find it. I know. How much chocolate do you have? There is no natural clip order past creation date and time. In your backup, look for a [named show].aup file. That's the clip manager for all those other tiny files. Put the folder and file in the same folder or location and ...

Re: *** Help with Hip Hop vocals! ***
Yes, you're too close to the mic, but that's not dreadful because lots of people do that. You're trying to mix a fully produced and posted backing track with your "dry" voice. You should probably start by adding a little echo and "depth" to put a little more "theater" i...

Re: Audacity 2.0.0 Freezes computer on start
Not from that description, no. Which Windows, what kind of computer and how old is it?
You launch Audacity and do nothing else except count quietly and then five seconds later the computer freezes? How do you get it back?

Re: Playing LPs faster ?
You would think you could do that, but the sound on an LP isn't "flat." You can't just convert it up and down. Vinyl sound is intentionally distorted so that the bass notes fit in the groove which they ordinarily wouldn't. So the first thing that Phono Preamps do is take the distortion out...

Re: Resonant Filter
Correct me, but that's an upside down notch filter. You could integrate the two, using a gain or loss slider that went through zero in the middle where it didn't do anything. The sides, slopes, Q, etc. are identical.

Re: Recording Audio Issue (Tried all solutions)
USB Microphones work by applying the 5 volts coming up the USB connection to the electronics inside the microphone module. Electret Microphones all have a tiny amplifier inside and that's why they all take phantom power, USB Power, or batteries. When our battery-powered microphones get too weak to d...

Re: Recording Audio Issue (Tried all solutions)
This suggests you have a mic boost option if you know where to find it.

Re: Recording Audio Issue (Tried all solutions)
Drag-Select a portion of blue waves where most of them match, such as the middle third of your illustration. Effect > Amplify > OK. That will boost the volume enormously, but the idea is to make sure that it still sounds OK if you do that. If it's noisy or distorted when you boost it, then there is ...

Dear OSH. I have removed your email address. We get a lot of computers searching our forum for the sole purpose of harvesting email addresses in order to send trash and ads. Not a good thing. Also, we like to keep the conversation on the forum. This is a lively discussion of problems, not a help des...

Re: Audacity is unable to record from mic-in line...
You probably don't need to worry about the guitar until you get Windows to recognize Mic-In. Audacity is a slave to whatever Windows is doing. You should probably root around in the Asus web site for updated drivers for your machine. You can also use Windows Sound Recorder and make that work before ...
