Re: *** Help with Hip Hop vocals! ***
It's perfectly OK to use MP3 in the middle of a production if the work will never see light of day in the final show. The backing tracks are perfect the way they are because all I'm going to do is filter your voice and send the composite back -- it doesn't matter if the backing track is a little bub...

Re: Sound in all other programs, but suddenly none in Audaci
Audacity is usually so reliable in its recording and playback that we used to use it to confirm signal continuity in recording and entertainment systems. It's most unusual for it to fail like this.

Re: Sound in all other programs, but suddenly none in Audaci
Then, one day last week, after she had successfully recorded, played back, and started editing a three-track file in the morning, she returned to work more that afternoon and discovered that Audacity had stopped making sound What day exactly? Day of the week? You have a fuzzy gap in there. You can ...

Re: *** Help with Hip Hop vocals! ***
I will warn you about doing production and mixing in MP3. Don't. MP3 creates small and efficient files by damaging the sound. Sometimes it's hidden damage, like you get all the way through production editing and find you can't export the show for your audience. Many people learn new naughty words wh...

I tried. I ran into tool and effects problems published in another thread.
I do like the way you prepared the work. I had no trouble reconstructing the show.

Re: Burned CD contains only half the track
I had a cousin to that problem. I have a really early CD burning program that hated mono sound files. I would cheerfully burn a Music CD and get it to the car and it would play 30 minutes of an hour show and stop dead. Are you exporting stereo sound files even though the sound capture recorder is pr...

Re: Distortion when recording streaming audio
Sometimes the Win7 conferencing services and processing get in the way of a good recording.
You're using the software Stereo-Mix, right, and not the jumper cable sometimes recommended for internal recording?

Re: Playing LPs faster ?
For the start, I'm just going to get the LPs into my puter as wave files. That's a darn good start, and that's the form you keep as archives. If you make Music CDs of the work, the CD will have the same quality as the capture. Music CDs are not archive. They use a cousin to color photography dyes a...

Don't "go" to the backup disk. Run Time Machine and use that to manage the backups. Koz

Re: Help recovering lost file
You keep using the word "Backup" instead of "Time Machine." Is that intentional? I upgraded to Leopard and Snow Leopard to get the Time Machine services. They are extraordinary and those layers of backups have been handy several times. Good comprehensive backups without Time Mach...
