Re: Behringer 202 or other USB input?
You might find use for the UFO202, the digital adapter with the phono adapter built-in. I believe it switches between Phono and Line-In. If you have a conventional turntable with the two audio cables and one thin black wire, you can't with very good success connect that directly to the UCA202 or the...

Re: Acoustically recording electric piano
I do not want to make a MIDI recording. That's a good thing, because MIDI playback is not your piano. It's the software piano inside the MIDI interpreter. It can't be stressed enough that the original recording be as high a quality as possible. "Sweetening" later can be hugely time consum...

Re: It is possible to make a female voice sound as male with
It is difficult or impossible to do Vocal Isolation and Difficult or Impossible to change a human voice to anything else. The Vocal Removal plugin can sometimes remove a voice, but usually fails more often than it succeeds. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=66246&p=183375#p1...

Re: Portions of wave form have flat tops and bottoms
It is flat-topping or rather "overloading." It's happening before the digitizer, so already damaged audio with bad levels is presented, instead of overloading the digitizer itself. A very common place for this to happen is the Mic-In of a sound card. That overloads very easily and always g...

Re: Plug-ins do not show up
The add-ons generally show up underneath the Apple built-in filters. Isn't Vocal Remover and Cross Fade in there? Pull down and install this one... http://theaudacitytopodcast.com/chriss-dynamic-compressor-plugin-for-audacity/ It's a simple loudness compressor. It appears in your list, then there's ...

Re: Can't export as WAV or AIFF file.
You may have run into the filename problem. Don't put dates or other punctuation marks into your filenames. It can drive the computer nuts. Today is not 6/20/12, it's 20120620. No slashes, no periods, no commas, etc.

Re: Input and Output on Macbook
The only way to hear what you're doing while you're recording is to have one of the Playthrough settings checked in Audacity Preferences, Recording. I use Software Playthrough. I remember looking this up and this mixer did not allow headphone mixing at the mixer itself. You got it to work once? I'm ...

Re: Cannot hear playback through speakers
Did you try listening to the headphone connection on the MicPort? I bet that's where the sound went. It's not unusual for Windows to see a bidirectional driver and assign sound to both directions. You can try adjusting the Audacity Device Toolbar. http://manual.audacityteam.org/help/manual/man/devic...

Re: Suggest sound card for recording ~$200
For recording Sounds Made on the Computer, you don't need an external interface at all. That's the desperation method and you're far better off if your computer doesn't feature Stereo-Mix, to invest in one of the software packages that allows this without leaving the computer. As far as converting m...
