Re: Remove "broken record" Segments of recording
I didn't say it wasn't a problem, but it's not common. Changes to Audacity or additional tools are written to solve problems that thousands of people have. Plus, there's no good way to build a tool that does this. Even the automatic splitting up of vinyl into individual songs is not very reliable be...

Re: Remove "broken record" Segments of recording
First I've heard of this problem in the wild, probably because your turntable is broken or misadjusted. If your turntable has "Skating" controls, you should consult your instructions how to adjust them. That's the adjustment that delicately pushes the needle outward to counteract the natur...

Re: cant recored with my keyboard organ
Can you hear the keyboard with built-in speakers or headphones? You want to record the music you make on your Windows laptop (stop me anywhere)? Your keyboard description doesn't Google. Many keyboard/organs have a midi connection. It's not Sound. Midi is machine control where you can press a key on...

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
Any reason you're in such a high sound standard? Music CD is 44100/16 and television sound is 48000/16. I understand higher is better, but the machine has to struggle to save all that data and again, in real time. Then there's the thing that Windows doesn't directly support 24-bit. I'm fuzzy there, ...

Re: Is it possible to edit a wav & save without re-rendering
Audacity uses a different format internally than it uses for the export. So it always has to render.

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
I have an SME arm and Grado Gold. Terrific arm, ropes and all. Audacity and other editors work in real time. They can't have the computer stop a second while it does housekeeping or shuffles data around to make room. If the machine isn't ready for the current note when it's sung, it will miss the ne...

Re: Will Audacity work for me?
Sure, but you'll be recording five people. Audacity does not have tools to make you sound like somebody else -- let's get that out of the way at the top. All we are is a sound editor. Audacity can be made to open many different video formats and play the sound, but it can only write new sound files....

Re: Weird Export Problem
This is where we get all compulsive on you. Exactly when does it drop out and does it always do it in exactly the same place. Can you export a WAV? Microsoft WAV 16-bit PCM. You know they're gone locally by opening the MP3 up in Audacity? Windows Media?? Both? without many problems. Without any exce...

Then you already know that 2G of ram is the absolute rock-bottom recommended for Win7 with few if any applications running. Certainly not enough to reliably do picture or sound production.

Re: Trying to export as MP3 file
I recorded several large files So you captured several one-hour shows and saved them as Audacity Projects. Did I get that? You didn't save a "file." Audacity Projects can have many thousands of files. Can you open one of your shows in Audacity 2? Do you get sound and the blue waveforms? I...
