Re: increase volume of mp3 file not created oneself

You can certainly do that with the provided tools, but you may not be comfortable with the results. Because Audacity always works in a very high quality internal sound format, it has to make a new MP3 when you're done -- asuming you're not going to enjoy the show inside Audacity from this time forwa...

Re: attenuate the drum beats?

I can't help it, either. They're too integrated into the structure of the song. You are a prime candidate for Overdubbing/Multitrack. You do the song in two passes. the first pass is without the drums and the second pass, you put the drum track in. That gives you drums on their own track and you mak...

Re: cant recored with my keyboard organ

Cool. You don't have to mess with the headphone adapters. Your keyboard has connections to do this built-in. If you have a full-on PC with all three sound connections, you should be able to connect the keyboard to the soundcard directly. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/soundCardFinal2.jpg htt...

Re: WAV vs Audacity?

One more. I personally use the date and time to identify each capture sound file. 20120628-2200.wav That's right now. I'm not good with post production bookkeeping because I never do it. That will be somebody else's post. Koz

Re: WAV vs Audacity?

Audacity doesn't save "files." It saves Projects which are full-blown suites of control, data, dependency, and folder systems. http://manual.audacityteam.org/help/manual/man/faq_opening_and_saving_files.html http://manual.audacityteam.org/help/manual/man/audacity_projects.html Anyway, the ...

Re: Song wont' play when added to video Windows Live Movie M

You still have the Audacity Project or original WAV files, right? Try exporting them at 48000, 16-bit, Stereo. That's the television sound standard and that's not Audacity default.

Re: attenuate the drum beats?

No. As a general rule, you can't take a song apart into instruments. So we can't split apart the drums from the rest of the song. If we could, the rest of the process is no problem. That and MP3 files are awful for production because the sound quality goes down each time you edit them. You might try...
