Re: Someone selling audacity on ebay!!

One of the features of open-source software is the ability for anyone to improve it and sell it. If, for example, this person is offering paid support and telephone hot-line, then they're good to go. We offer neither of those services. For another example, RedHat is a paid distribution -- buy it in ...

Re: File Won't Play, or Open

Audacity would not open up its own file? You can tell Windows to stop hiding file extensions and that should tell us what happened. -- Hidden File Extensions -- Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > [ ] Hide Extensions for Known File Types (deselect) -- Apply (to this folder) or Appl...

Re: save mp3 as Midi

As far as I know, no version of Audacity supports MIDI, either in or out.
Find out who told you that and stop believing them.

Are you trying to record your keyboard performance? You left out the goal.

Re: Removing Mic "rattle"

While we normally discourage using a fuzz guitar for testing a problem that sounds like fuzz, this one is pretty straightforward. You are overloading the microphone, or probably the first amplifier after the microphone element -- the mic preamplifier. When we Google (Bing) M-Audio Mic, we get thousa...

Re: cant recored with my keyboard organ

Yes. Your organ supplies two different sounds for each note. Left and Right -- two mono signals. In my case, my "cathedral" sound is very deep and I can hear the room wrapping around me because the left and right sound is slightly different -- just like I was in the church. The cable combi...

Re: attenuate the drum beats?

A note. We urge people not to back up a large truck (lorry) and dump ton lots of effects, plugins and filter into Audacity. One sure way to kill Audacity out of the gate is to load an effect it can't handle. "See that huge pile of effects? One of them is bad. Have a happy day." That and Au...

If you have all those parts, you have one of the rare simple Windows machines.

Re: I replayed to my thread but I can't see the post

If you're new enough, the forum makes you wait in a queue before posting. Sorry. That's the way it is. It's rare for a question to wait over 24-hours before posting.

Before we did that, we were swamped with commercials for male enhancing strategies and insurance offers from South Africa. Koz

Re: The forum needs an area not specific to an operating sys

That's a philosophy problem and it's serious. By definition, you have a question or something you don't understand or you wouldn't be posting. By extension, you don't know if the operating system has anything to do with it or not. The worst questions we have, past the "magic" ones with no ...
