Re: 4 headsets and a mixer
how do I go about doing that, run a splitter off of my computer to two normal headphone jacks? Live monitoring has to happen on the mixer, interface, or preamp and sometimes on the mic itself. Anywhere before the computer. The headphone connection on the computer can be made to produce the show sou...

Re: 4 headsets and a mixer
If you get closer, let us know and we'll poke holes in it. If the holes don't matter to you, then you're good to go. I think the mini-stage idea is terrific. Can you see where you're magically oozing away from the idea of the free-form, shoot anywhere podcast? Jury's out on a battery powered mixer. ...

Re: Also, not able to export mp3 files
MP3 Export is paid, licensed software by Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. It's not free. To keep Audacity's free model, you have to load the open source "lame" software product yourself. The location that the software installer uses is the subject of debate. That and there's only 1.3 people workin...

Re: Screen Saver shut-down?
I'd be reading my instructions or posting questions on line. Google/Bing is your friend. How many system shut-down functions are present in Windows 7 in a Dell Latitude D630?
What is the best way to configure my system to avoid unwanted shut-downs?
Do you have any Audacity questions?

Re: Vanishing Songs...
From one of the review pages: =========================== Pros If you like viruses, this is awesome stuff. Cons I installed this, and opted for the entire suite of tools, a .wav editor, etc. the products spawned browser windows without my doing, which pissed me off, but when I went to uninstall, my ...

I thought that was too easy.

They're designed to plug into a communications bodypack that has the batteries in it. It doesn't plug directly into your 3-pin XLR mixer.4-pin female connector is compatible with Clear-Com and Telex bodypacks that have a 4-pin male connector

Re: 4 headsets and a mixer
Unexpected success. This is the battery adapter box you need to plug a "computer" headset into your mixer. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/headsetBattery.jpg I don't know of anybody that makes one, so you have to do it. This is the thread from someone who wanted to do something very...

Re: 4 headsets and a mixer
A buddy of mine owns a bar, that I might record live from a time or two. I will set my desktop up as it is at home. Yea it's a bit cumbersome, but my tower's tiny, and hey I'm the one doing it so it won't bug me as long as I allow enough time. It will be me and a friend with simple back and forth b...

Re: Also, not able to export mp3 files
You go here... http://audacityteam.org/download/ And then dig down into your computer type and then way down the lame install pages which gives you the option of downloading the zip version of lame, and not the one with the auto installer. Download that and double click it. It will "explode&quo...

Re: Also, not able to export mp3 files
/usr is a hidden and sometimes protected location on some machines. The last time this happened to me, I exploded the libmp3lame.dylib file and put in in my plug-ins folder and pointed Audacity preferences to it. It's been working ever since.
