Re: 4 headsets and a mixer
Let's revisit the show. Banter? Can you get closer? Are you going to do standup -- but seated? Once you're on the stage, someone in the audience is going to expect you to be more entertaining than watching the top of their beer. Are you the mayonnaise sandwiched between the regular acts, sort of int...

Re: Also, not able to export mp3 files
And just when you think it can't get any more surreal, MP3 isn't its name. It's real name is MPEG1, Layer 3. It's a video format.

Re: recording problems
Did you follow along with those overdubbing/multitrack tutorials we wrote? You hear the old track when you switch audacity to Preferences > Recording > Overdubbing. You should use the device tool bar to make sure you're recording directly from the connection and not Stereo-Mix, Wave-Out or something...

Re: 4 headsets and a mixer
I expect these have XLR jacks, no? Sorta. She's wearing a radio transmitter behind her butt. No wires. There is a radio receiver back somewhere off-stage and that, in fact, has an XLR connection to the mixer. That would seem to be perfect, right? No wires. The ones that work reliably are stunningly...

Re: 4 headsets and a mixer
This is another very common nasty surprise. You're producing one simple show with several people talking, but connections have to go to all of the headphones, the house and the computer. Given two people, that's two connections going in, but four going out. This is where more complex sound mixers be...

Re: 4 headsets and a mixer
The house feed comes from the mixer. You can't get it from the computer because of the delay problems. We also use AKG C555L microphones. They work terrifically well. They do have a belt pack with the batteries in it, but they do plug right into an XLR mixer. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio...

Re: 4 headsets and a mixer
Can you explain to me what you meant by "close" mics? This is the magic place where English is going to fall apart. I would be sending into a noisy environment to try to get a good, clean recording. There's nothing like the surprises you get when you try to do that with your own fingers. ...
