Re: How to change pitch without creating echo?
Can you post a little bit of what you consider "echo?" http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 You have two really big strikes against you right away. You're well beyond the number of piano notes you can shift without people catching you at it on a voice, and no matter...

Re: Can you disable infinite dragging to the right of a wave
Yes, that drives me crazy, too, but I don't think there's a way around it. I think the reason that's done is to give Audacity "breathing room" to the right if you extend the show by inserting other sounds or changing the show so it gets longer. Also, if you add or capture a new show on tra...

Re: Missing 3dB of headroom when using "Line In" in mono mod
When the sound system goes into Mono, it also goes into high-amplification microphone mode. Plugging a Line-Level, powerful signal into a laptop Mic-In almost always produces that effect. "How come my music won't get any bigger than 0.5 and I can't fix it no matter what I do." The tiny, se...

Re: Removing excessive "S" sound out of tutorial voice over
Oh, and never do production in MP3. MP3 creates sound damage -- always -- and when you export your show for on-line use, the damage is going to double. You'll go from Air Traffic Controller to Sirius Satellite Radio voices, bubbling, gargling, honking and compression. If you noticed that happening a...

Re: Removing excessive "S" sound out of tutorial voice over
It's possible that you're simply too close to the mic, but it's much more likely you're overloading the sound channel or there's something wrong with your microphone or the amplifier system. Overloading a radio microphone or cellphone system is a really good way to get harsh, piercing sibilants. Get...

Re: 4 headsets and a mixer
So your task is to figure out if it's going to work with your cellphone. Sometimes, if the device is $30 and I have a use for it, I will buy one, inspect it and write it up. But not for $175 USD. I don't need to record a cellphone that bad. Find someone who's using it and speaks the same languages y...

Re: error trying to record audio
the input device settings are alright since I can listen to the records through my computer speakers You don't need Audacity to hear the music, but you do need Audacity to record. Go into Audacity Preferences and set the bit depth to 16-bit instead of 32-bit floating. The full set of settings is 44...
