Re: Adjusting Master Volume Affects Recordings

... the master volume switch still shouldn't be interfering like this. Maybe. When you establish the recursive pathways needed to record internet sound, you run the Play and Record services at the same time. Anything in either pathway can affect the sound. Win7 doesn't do things like the earlier sy...

While you're in preferences, Go to Devices and make sure Audacity is set to play to your headphones.

Re: line in

What kind of Mac and which OS-X? Apple > About This Mac. If you have a newer Mac with only one connection, it switches between Stereo In and Stereo Out according to your System Preferences. The down side is you can't hear the system on headphones while its recording -- it won't go both ways at once....

Re: Burning a CD after recording streaming audio

And that's why folk connect their iPods up to their car radios ... Perfectly correct, but that wasn't the question. I still make Music CDs for friends who routinely connect their iPhone to their car, but are squeamish about four-time-zone file transfer and iTunes management. I can hit them over the...

Re: Burning a CD after recording streaming audio

Then burn the CD-R(s). But that leaves you with a pile of old CD-Rs under the seat in the car. I thought the goal was to use one CD-RW and continually update it as new shows came out. It's not a dreadful idea if you have the time and the disks work. The CD-Rs at the beginning is just to get it all ...

Re: The Four Horsemen of Audio Recording

It is. The problem is it doesn't match the rest of the show. They're trying to sell professional diet solutions and the intro sounds like a 12-year old recorded it in the garage. Koz

Re: How to change pitch without creating echo?

I think what damage there is, is equal parts processing damage and MP3 artifacts. The poster is not using crystal clear WAV captures for all this. They're using MP3. "Hidden" MP3 damage causes enormous problems when you start taking music apart and processing it. Another problem was the po...
