Re: Audacity on an ssd
Did you get a really cheap or early one? I run an SSD in my MacBook Pro and as I recall, it has generously more than the life expectancy of spinning rust -- particularly in a portable machine. Unless you got an early one, the Mean Time Between Failure is up into some pretty serious numbers. Yes, the...

Re: Music Track as Background
A representative of Spreaker recommended Audacity as a way to "tweak" the music. They've never tried it. You're in the same boat with people who post wanting to take the TV out of the background of their podcast. That's one of the guaranteed ways to kill your show. I would so use your mic...

Re: 4 headsets and a mixer
Cellphone connections are magic. Your problems and shortcomings show up at the other end. Many conferencing system work like that. My echo cancellation problems drive you crazy. I so want to record someone who's in love with one of those microphones built into the headset cable. They're terrible. Yo...
Re: mbox2
From fuzzy memory, isn't that the one that requires ASIO software that Audacity doesn't have? See if you can find Windows drivers for it if it won't mount any other way. Koz

Re: Music Track as Background
The built-in microphone on a Mac is usually not dreadful. You can use that with Audacity and even mix in music and effects later without Spreaker. I've used the built-in mic for temporary sound tracks for video production. Koz

Re: Music Track as Background
Is this a complicated way to say you want to record the show with no music at all? Can you plug the mic directly into the computer? KozI want to reduce, or delete, it using Audacity

Re: Music Track as Background
If you have a mixed stereo show there is no way to split off different parts, voices, or instruments in post production. Our silly joke is taking the chocolate back out of a cake. If you can't control the volume of the backing track, can you make your voice louder? You do have to be careful and not ...

Re: How do I record a mono signal to the left and right chan
Audacity > Preferences > Devices > Recording > Channels. In general, you should get Left as a mono show. It just ignores Right.
