Re: Audacity hanging when selecting audio segments
I've checked Activity Monitor While you're in there, see what the drive reads and writes are doing during the failure. How big is your System Drive? Did you get one of the new 4TByte drives in your machine? It is the video people's experience that putting OS-X on a small, fast System Drive and leav...

Re: Audacity hanging when selecting audio segments
Probably the first problem is Audacity doesn't have tech support. We're it. Did you get your Audacity from here?

Re: Freezing on playback
If I go in and delete 6 or 8 of those tracks, it plays fine. How are you deleting the tracks? If you just "X" them out with the tools on the left, Audacity still has to keep rack of the UNDO. If you UNDO your way back to the original show, is it still broken? Are they still broken if you ...

Re: Adjusting input volume for USB turntable
I think that's a little slippery. Yes, certainly, USB is half-duplex. It only works one direction at a time and putting a busy USB hub in the system is just begging for trouble. The audio tries to change directions and it has to wait for the keyboard, mouse, and printer to finish. It's one of the re...

Re: Default Values
Terrific idea. If we did, anyone remember why it didn't go anywhere? Admittedly, the world will not stop turning without this, but still. It's a relatively uncomplicated graphic goal. It doesn't have to change color or wiggle or flash. Just be.

Default Values
I run into this every so often. Today was one of those days. What are the default Noise Removal settings? I can get there by just clicking on the "[Default]" button, right? Or hold a key like Control while clicking on something? Or find somebody that hasn't changed their settings on a new ...

Re: [Q] Removing beeps from audio
You mean you selected one of the beep waveforms by itself for the Profile, right?? When you applied that to a show segment with a beep in it, the beep should have gone to almost zero with some damage to the rest of the show. That's not what you got? Starter noise removal settings top to bottom: 24 0...

Re: Copy/Paste audio position
Apparently not. At least short of a screen capture and a graphic paste.
On the up side, did you know you can get the timers to read in video and film rates? 4m 15s 9frames.So you don't have to guess where .534 seconds is.

Re: mp3 files exported show a lock sign
Will it let you right-click the file > Properties? Distortion that slowly changes over time could be Windows Enhanced Services, their conferencing suite. You can turn that off. http://manual.audacityteam.org/help/manual/man/faq_recording.html#enhancements How do you have the cassette machine connect...

Re: Recording mixes to my Laptop
Most Windows laptops will not interface with your mixer. Look on the side of the computer and see if you have three sound connections or only two. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCLaptopSound.jpg If two, you should go through your instructions or just dig into your Windows Control Panels and...
