Re: Distorting Sound while recording voice
Do your blue waves go all the way up and down on the timeline, or do they flatten out at around 0.5 without hitting the natural overload point? Both of these are caused by operating your recording system wrong. Describe how you're getting your voice between your lips and Audacity. USB Microphone? Koz

That will set you up to End > Paste > End > Paste and produce a long looping track. If you're not going to do this inside Audacity, then we need to find out what you're looping it in.

Re: Does this sound like a tough piece of music to loop?
At around 26 seconds, the thematic phrase ends and another starts. I'd put the loop point there. If you don't, you'll need to wait for the next whole phrase some distance down the song -- nowhere near 27 seconds.

Re: weird error message every time I export wav files
YES. STOP SHOUTING! Where were you trying to save the work? Try saving to the desktop instead of one of the Music folders. I know this is an old joke, but have you restarted your computer? You said "now." Did it used to work? Did Windows do a System update between the time it used to work ...

You're seeing this -26 on the sound meters, right? What happens if you record some? Get some blue waves, do a screen capture and post it here.

Re: Audacity unexpectedly quit
We know that /User/Koz/Library is a hidden folder now and it didn't used to be. Did you take steps to reveal it? I know it's possible because many systems fail with that one change and a work-around was generated immediately. I also don't remember if that happened with Lion or Mountain Lion. Audacit...

Re: Audacity unexpectedly quit
Did you upgrade for a specific reason? We have been highly unwilling to go much beyond Snow Leopard at work because significant changes to the OS have messed up some of our business systems and it will require recoding. Of course nobody has anything better to do. We have been recommending our more a...

Re: Sound not recording on Windows 7 (using HP laptop)
Also, when plugging in my RCA cable, that goes to the back of my mixer, do I connect it through the headphone input or the one which has a mic symbol? Since it's unlikely your computer has a Stereo Line-In, you might try an external USB adapter such as the UCA-202 or equivalent. http://www.kozco.co...

Re: Crash with 4 folders with original files, can't open
As you figured out, the job of the aup file is to put it all back together again. It's the project manager. The process of creating a show from individual au snippets and fragments can sometimes be done, but maybe not from a very old show. Did you find that the snippets are organized left, right, le...
