There was a very early update to Mac OS where they made the assumption that they were going to reset all the devices in the system every time the system changed states. Every time you came out from Sleep, all the drives would go crazy. They quickly offered a patch that didn't do that.

Re: Batch processing - is it possible with Audacity
"Chains" is Audacity's batch tool and it's pretty simple. It can't, as far as I know, do branching functions. IF this is the second pass THEN do something different.
It's more like: Open a file, Normalize it, Save it. Repeat with the next file.

USB audio will not go through a hub. Connect the turntable system directly. Koz

Re: How do I record voice messages from my cell phone?
Pickup coils work by interacting with the powerful magnet and internal coils of wire in a landline deskset earpiece. I doubt there would be enough energy there for it to work on a cellphone.

Re: Excessive clicking from soundcard (Xonar) on Audacity st
Are you complaining about a tiny click coming from the sound card, or a very loud click/pop coming from the sound system? This card has mechanical replays whose purpose it is to prevent start up and shut down sounds from reaching the speakers. http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?board_id=21&mode...

Mic-In for almost all sound cards is mono.

You can add an external soundcard to get stereo. That's a UCA202

Contact the Verizon store and see if they have a cable that allows you do connect your computer and the phone. Each phone maker does it a little different and you want to get the right cable. Koz

Re: Audacity has stopped receiving input from line-in
You did restart the machine, right? See if your soundcard is available via the device toolbar at the top of Audacity. http://manual.audacityteam.org/help/manual/man/device_toolbar.html Did you just start to us Skype? Did you buy a USB Turntable? See if Windows Recorder is still available and you can...

Re: maximum frequency generation
If you mean the headphone connection, you'd be doing very well if it covered the audible range of human hearing. 20Hz - 20 KHz. Audacity default sample rate is 44100 which, on a good day will barely reproduce 20 KHz. You run up against the laptop maker's intense desire to make things as cheaply as p...
