Re: Audacity Freezes upon loading
Since this is a forum and not a help desk, we'd just as soon keep the discussion here. Also, I changed your address. It's very dangerous to post live email addresses on the forum. We get a lot of visits from spam generators. I am tryin to load Audacity2.x on my windows 7 computer. Describe the compu...

Re: Removing "bad stuff" in VO recording
It's weapons grade distortion and I'm sure it sounds like it. We can't fix it in post production. I'm perfectly clear what's happening to the waveforms, but I'm a lot less clear how a microphone overload is causing it. Anyway, back up from the microphone and see if a lot of the trash doesn't go away...

Remember Panther?
I'm stuck doing cassette dubs on a large G5 Mac running Panther OS-X 10.3.9. What was the newest Audacity that would run on this machine? I'm using 1.2.6 and it's crashing between takes. I'll move machines around if I have to, but that would be very painful. Koz

Re: HELP GAPS WITHIN AN AUP RECORDED FILE
One of the Audacity operating modes is to not make personal, internal copies of music files you included, but to just point to external music files when their time comes. If you move Audacity or the music files, when it comes times to play them, Audacity goes out looking for them and they're gone. S...

Re: Can anyone help a newbie please?
My neighbour’s dog barks all the time when he leaves his home He's doing security duty. They do that. Unless they're trained not to, they will do whatever they think is needed to protect the home from intruders. Most people have no idea the dog is doing that and it's an interesting surprise when th...

Re: Loading ALL of a saved project - how please?
To open a project, you double click on the aup project manager file and it will manage and load the little au files (they're not all audio) for you into a complete show. You are warned that Projects do not save UNDO, but the rest of the show should be there as you left it. If you have a damaged or m...

Muting most sounds over about 300Hz will get you close.

Re: How do I mark points in the waveform?
Audacity does not have Edit Markers, but it does have labels. Tracks > Add Label at Selection, or the shortcut key. Rather than beat up the main track, you might try adding a blank track, Tracks > Add New, and pasting the replacement music on that. Then use the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black ar...
