Re: How do I hear and record the mp3 downloaded track?
Overdubbing or Sound On Sound takes a few more special settings than just straight recording. You need to adjust Recording Latency and tell Audacity to record and play at the same time. Please note that almost no computer will feed your own live voice back to you properly in real time. There's alway...

Re: Recording from Bowes & Wilkins MM1 speaker system
You should probably capture the sound before the speakers ever get to it.

Re: CANNOT EXPORT EDITED SONG IN MP3 FORMAT
Probably the first step is to stop Windows from hiding the "real" file extension. Windows is famous for this. Multiple viruses come down looking like "harmlessfile.mp3" when in fact the real filename was harmlessfile.mp3.exe, a very dangerous executable. -- Hidden File Extensions...

Re: Cannot move ahead while playing
You probably want to stay away from the "B" word around developers.
No, you don't. You can use the bottom scrollbar while you're playing and then click in the upper time bar to go instantly to that click point and Audacity will keep playing.

Re: HELP GAPS WITHIN AN AUP RECORDED FILE
If you inspect my illustration, you find that the piano2.wav file is listed twice, once for left and once again for right. You have to hit them both. I think you can do this in notepad by making the window really wide. The lines of code straighten out when you do that. I think you can use WordPad, t...

Re: Can you import a mp3 file into Audacity for editing
There is one problem with editing MP3 or other compressed formats. Each compression adds sound damage and they do add up. If you start out life with an OK quality MP3 music clip, apply some filters and effects and then export as a new MP3, the new MP3 will sound nothing like your timeline. It will h...

Re: High pitched hiss in my set.
Does it still do that if you click once inside the red recording meters instead of going into record? That puts the system into playthrough if that's what you have selected in Audacity Preferences. Now disconnect everything at the output of the UCA222 and plug headphones into the UCA headphone socke...

Re: Why am I getting a delay from the line in from my guitar
I know what the first one does, but how do the other two connect to each other? Do any of them need Audacity at all?

Re: Can you import a mp3 file into Audacity for editing
Yes. But if it didn't come in, it wasn't an MP3. You can install the FFMpeg software and Audacity will recognize many more modern sound formats.
