Re: fixing cassette rip eq
Try the equalizer in the illustration. There is a serious but not deadly low frequency droop and I more or less compensated for it. Note that the whole right-hand side of the graph is lower than zero. you need that to keep the correction from overloading. Is this worth us talking you through capturi...

Re: Export multiple is limited to 4
I divided each track You didn't use the right words there. "I put a label at the front of each song I wanted exported." Is that exactly what you did? Did you write any metadata in the export? Try it again and don't label the songs -- don't put anything in the label box. Audacity should re...

Re: Can audacity be used as a synthesizer?
I have a recording that's needed in a serious matter The court action, law suit or divorce, right? Doesn't anybody record music any more? If there's not enough there to amplify, then there's not enough available to use any of the other tools. Can we assume you started with Effect > Amplify? That wi...

Re: Importing raw data in sooner time
You need a larger machine. Importing a large "music" file rapidly requires enormous fast memory. I'm going with a guess of 64GB of memory, and that's just the import. If you don't do that, the machine will go as far as it can and then start swapping the work to hard drive. That's what's ta...

Unless, of course, you could drag and magnify Analyze Spectrum. Kozunlikely to be visible at all in linear view.

...or it just doesn't propagate to the mics or there's a low-cut filter in the mic channel taking it out. How would you know by a series of lumpy blue waves -- even if they did line up into orderly harmonics -- whether or not you already had the fundamental? You can have modulation effects where he...

Re: wma files size not as the original
The damage happens all through the show. If you need to edit a production that's just on the edge of bubbling from high compression, creating a new sound file at the same compression will destroy the show. If you start with work at an impossibly high compression like 320, you can create a new show a...

Re: Need help I'm a begginer
When the grownups have to fill a hole like that, they borrow sound from another part of the movie. If it's a street scene, they'll find car and street noise from earlier or later and put that in instead. If you're careful about matching visuals with the noises, nobody has to know. If there's spoken ...

Re: Audio volume dropping
The newer Macs have a conferencing tool (that I don't remember the name of) in Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input. It says "Automatic -- something." Unclick that if you have it. See if that helps. It's supposed to only help during the microphone use, but you didn't say h...

Re: How to determine a track's Bit depth
Audacity is notorious for internal quality manipulation. Please note it doesn't have a Clip Inspector or Clip INFO in spite of numerous requests. You need to do that outside of Audacity.
